We do Reiki on your pets in conjunction with your session or we even sometimes go to your home if you pet is ill or doesnt travel well. What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is an energy healing technique, administered by the Reiki practioner holding their hands above the body or gently laying hands on the body to be a transmitter of life force energy to the person receiving the healing. If one's ''life force energy'' is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, if it is high, we are more capable of being healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means ''God's Wisdom or the Higher Power'' and Ki which is ''life force energy''. So Reiki is actually ''spiritually guided life force energy.'' In Western science Reiki is the combining of the electormagnetic field of the healing practioner with the electromagnetic field of the person receiving the healing to allow for cell re-alignment, heat exchange and relaxation of the body, facilitating deep relaxation and healing benefits similar to massage. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of energy and spiritual healing that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It works well in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. It is higly beneficial for people going through Cancer treatments and other life situations and is often offered in hospitals and health treatment settings as a complimentary modality to medical treament, as Reiki is very gentle and has no side effects. What is a Reiki Session like? In our clinic, Reiki is used in the Natural High session. (*see the Natural High page to learn more about this profound session) During the Reiki session on it's own, one can remain fully clothed, relaxing under a sheet or blanket on the massage table. The session includes the front and back of the body, the head and the feet. Reiki is a great compliment for people going through Cancer treatment or other medical procedures as it is very gentle on the body.
